![]() ![]() Most dogs don't need near the number or strength of booster shots that is now reccomended. My dog is now seven and has had a couple of the shots, so when she comes due next, we are going to get a titer blood test that will show that the immunity is still in her blood and a booster isn't needed. One year boosters are a bit more effort, but my vet has seen a couple of cases now where the three year booster causes this. She will be on this for life.Īs a side note, my dog will never get another rabies booster. She has been on it now almost three years and has not had another incident in over two. I praise God for my miracle dog, but I know that her surviving the second attack was also helped by this. The vet can't say for sure if the reason is her supplements, but she did say it doesn't hurt and it's not expensive. The vet had no words, because no dog ever survives two attacks. About six months after her initial attack, she had another AIHA attack. It is liver flavored, so no problems giving it. She gets both daily, I mix this in her food and she loves it. I figured with anemia, she should have an iron supplement and I started her on this, as well as the main Pet Tabs chewable vitamin. The vet said it was a miracle she pulled through. ![]() She required overnight emergency care with almost no blood volume left. This happened days after a three year rabies booster. Three years ago our dog had an almost deadly attack of AIHA (auto immune hemolytic anemia). ![]()
